1. Who We Are

2. Eligibility (Adults 18+)
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use So Social.
- Children under 18 do not have accounts, cannot be messaged, and cannot hold public profiles.
- Any family or kids’ activities arranged through So Social Family must be managed directly by an adult parent or legal guardian.
3. What So Social Is & Does
- So Social is an offline-first social platform designed to help adults find real-world plans, discover independent venues, invite people (Beeps), confirm in-person attendance (Tap In), and share verified memories.
- Independent Venues & Hosts: Partner venues, hosts, and experience providers are independent third parties. They are solely responsible for their own premises, services, licensing, food and allergen safety, staff, and pricing. So Social facilitates bookings and invitations but does not operate partner venues.
4. Meeting People & Real-World Safety
- You choose whom to meet, where to go, and when. Always exercise caution, meet in public spaces, and let someone know your plans.
- Safety & Moderation: Tools to Report and Block other members are available on every profile, plan, and in the Safety Center (Me → Safety).
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach safety guidelines or put others at risk. A safety suspension always overrides any paid membership or booking status.
5. Community Rules & Content
- Conduct: You agree not to harass, threaten, impersonate, post sexually explicit material, scrape data, generate fake attendance check-ins, or engage in unlawful behaviour.
- Your Photos & Intellectual Property: You retain ownership of the photos and text you share. You grant So Social a limited licence to store and display them solely to operate the platform within your chosen privacy settings.
- Optional AI Alt-Text & Discovery: If you choose to generate accessibility descriptions (alt-text) or search by screenshot in Discover, the image is transmitted to an AI service only with your explicit, per-photo consent checkbox. Photos are never analysed by third-party AI automatically.
6. Memberships (So Plus & So Club)
- Tiers & Pricing:
- So Plus: £14.99/month (or £149/year). An introductory rate of £9.99 for the first month may be offered to eligible new members.
- So Club: £39.99/month (or £399/year).
- So Elite: £2,500/year (or £4,000/year for Elite Household). Web-only, invitation/application only.
- Apple In-App Purchases (iOS App):
- If purchased within the iOS app, subscriptions are billed, managed, and refunded exclusively through your Apple ID in accordance with Apple Media Services Terms.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via your device settings or via Me → Membership → Manage subscription. A "Restore Purchases" button is provided on the Membership screen.
- Web Subscriptions: Renew automatically each period. If a renewal payment fails, a 72-hour grace period applies before premium features pause.
7. Real-World Bookings & Experiences
- Real-world experiences (dining, events, workshops) booked through So Social are distinct from digital app memberships. They represent physical services consumed offline and are paid by credit/debit card (via Stripe), not Apple in-app purchase.
- Cancellation Policies: Each experience clearly displays its specific cancellation window (e.g., 24 hours, 48 hours, or non-refundable) before you confirm payment.
8. Account Deletion & Termination
- You can delete your account at any time within the app under Me → Settings → Delete account.
- Deleting your account deletes your personal profile, past Beeps, and presence data. It does not automatically cancel an active Apple subscription; you must cancel active subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.
9. Limitation of Liability
- We provide So Social with reasonable skill and care. We are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses, nor for the independent actions of venues, third-party hosts, or other members.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any statutory consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable UK or US law (including the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015).
10. Governing Law
- These terms are governed by the laws of Wyoming, United States, without depriving UK/EU consumers of the mandatory protections provided by their local consumer laws. Consumers may bring disputes in their local courts.
